Enrollment & Cost Enrollment in the Institute is open to any blind or visually impaired person of any faith. The certification process, once completed, will be done by the Lutheran Blind Mission Society. Church denominations which are not directly connected to The Lutheran ChurchMissouri Synod may or may not recognize the certification process. The instruction for most courses will be done through correspondence. Some of the classes will be done in seminar fashion. For those classes, the students will need to travel and meet the instructor at a central location for a weekend. If enough students are enrolled, it may be possible for the instructor to travel to their location. The materials will be available in braille, large type, audio cassette and or computer disk. It is offered in these many formats to best fit the learning style of the student. The Cost Our program has both an educational mentor (Rev Dave Andrus) who will be making sure that the student understands the course work and is moving along at an acceptable pace and a spiritual mentor (often the local pastor) who will guide the student in using the gained knowledge and skills in the community. |
